  1. I used to think that I can only apply for jobs where I met each requirement. That's until I applied to each job I was interested in after graduating. I actually landed an amazing job and learned later that I was 1 out of 25 candidates and was chosen over a guy with more experience in the tech industry. Now that I've been on the other side of the interview process, I learned that recruiters don't want the candidate to be overqualified since it can mean the candidate may become bored of the job and leave only after a short time there. It's actually preferred for candidates to apply for jobs they're partially qualified for. I'm so glad I did that or I wouldn't of landed my dream job.

  2. This is the story of how I got hired for 2 positions I was not qualified for and excelled in. I "faked it" until I made it, and the only way was to do the job, learn, and keep going. For job interviews I failed, I used the questions they asked me as a direction in which to develop my skills.

  3. I LOVE the message and story in this video. But your thumbnail graphic, your video intro graphic, and the video title in the description don't match, and they don't fully match the message of the video either! It didn't' sound like this was Kimberly's "Dream Job" (thumbnail graphic), just a better job in her career path…she wasn't unqualified on paper (intro graphic) for the supervisor position, she thought she was, and she even said she did well on the interview and test for it… and she wasn't completely unqualified for it (video title), because she already worked for the company, and in the field, so she absolutely had qualifications to move up.
*I'm in the media production field, so I want to share these notes with love TFD team! Will always be a fan of the channel!

  4. I can attest for this, as I had a similar experience getting a job in a very male dominated industry. Stay positive, take chances, and request for every opportunity to increase your qualifications.

  5. YAS U GO GRLLLLLL this was so inspiring, thank u 4 dis!!! U have nothing 2 lose when applying 4 a higher qualification ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ hahahhahahah but honestly thank you for this..again…

  6. I have my current dream job (working in the next dream). I tell my younger coworkers to apply to jobs โ€œjust out of reachโ€. After all whatโ€™s the worst that happens? You come to work the next day.

  7. I am currently in a similar situation. I interviewed for a job above my current skill level and managed to get it, but as soon as I stepped into the role, every cell in my body is telling me I am way over my head. I want to quit every day but I know I am learning so much and it would be a shame if I quit. Also, I am super stubborn to quit ๐Ÿ™‚
